Grocery pickup options Chicago. Now that the Mayor is enforcing the lockdown order you may want to avoid going outside except in your vehicle. Following is a list of places where you can order groceries to be picked up. Pick up availability may vary by location. Keep in mind that many stores are short staffed and Instacart is inundated. The key is to be flexible. Availability varies by the day. Make a list and keep checking store websites for your items. Also the deals and offers I mention below were good at time of publication and are subject to change.

Mercato: Mercato is like Instacart but for high quality locally produced food. They offer pick up (and delivery) for independent grocers, local shops and food artisans. Some of the options are Local Foods, Gepperth’s Meat Market, La Fournette. You can schedule pick ups on the app.

Aldi: Aldi is partnering with Instacart to offer pick up. Shop online and pick up. Free pickup on first 3 orders of $35 or more. Use code SHOPALDI20.

Target: Target offers free pick up. You can order online or in app to pick up in-store. Some Target’s also offer free order pickup with Drive Up service. To use, you have to place your order in the Target app and select Drive Up at checkout. Once your pick up order is ready, you’ll receive a notification, and you have three days to pick up. Most items are eligible through this service, but you won’t be able to order perishable food, flowers, or adult beverages.

Walgreens: Order online and pick up in-store. I’ve used this in the past and it usually takes several days to pick up because they ship the items to the store. Walgreens has a new Drive through pickup. Pull up, ask for a menu of available items, give your order and they will bring it out to you when ready. This is going to be limited to Walgreens that have drive-thru windows.
Walmart: Wal-mart offers pick up at all large stores and pick up of some items at the Neighborhood Markets. You can order online or in app.
