Hyde Park sizzles in the summer and the popular neighborhood will get even more energized during the Harper Court Summer Music Series, set for July 9, August 6 and September 10, 2026.
A summer tradition since 2015, the free outdoor concerts feature local musicians and bring a festive sense of community to Hyde Park. This series takes place on the first Thursdays of the summer, from 6-9 pm. Hosted by Hyde Park’s ace impresario, Mario Smith, good vibes, dancing and great music are always a highlight.

The Southside’s own Lefttones, a dynamic live band that blends jazz with R&B and hip hop, perform on July 9 with DJ Rich Medina spinning from 7-8 pm. Renowned jazz vocalist Tammy McCann, whose classical vocal training and gospel inflections have been featured as a Raelette, the iconic background singers for the legendary Ray Charles, takes the stage on August 6 with DJ Celeste Alexander opening.
Contemporary soul singer Shawnee Dez offers up her harmonic melodies on September 10 with DJ Selah Say opening. The free concerts run from 6-9 pm outside at Harper Court, 5235 S. Harper Court. Bring lawn chairs because seating is not provided. This year, liquor sales from Daisy’s Po’Boys and Ja’Grill will be permitted for guests to enjoy at the shows.
