Ten dance companies will take the stage to celebrate the past and present of Black dance in Chicago with the Chicago Black Dance Legacy Project’s new show, “Sans Pareil,” on March 25-26, 2023.
“Sans Pareil” means unparalleled in French, which is a nod to the Haitian heritage of Chicago’s founder, Jean Baptiste Pointe DuSable. With a talented collection of dance companies that represent a rich array of styles and dance forms, the performance definitely promises to be unparalleled.
The companies that will participate in the show include the Joel Hall Dancers, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Muntu Dance Theatre, Chicago Multi-cultural Dance Center & Hiplet Ballerinas and M.A.D.D Rhythms and more.
The dance performance will open on March 25 at the Logan Center for the Arts at 7 pm. The show will kick off at 6 pm on March 26 and a youth concert will be held at 2 pm. Tickets are $25 for the general public and $10 for students and seniors.
