Chicago’s iconic skyline and skyscrapers got a little closer since the opening of the Flyover Chicago immersive flying experience at Navy Pier. This exciting attraction that soars over downtown Chicago just added another experience: Call of the Canadian Rockies.

Leave the city and fly through the snowy peaks of the Canadian Rockies during a 25-minute trip that takes you through indigenous dancing, close-up cliffs and the sensation of snow flying into your face.

The experience offers an exhilarating glimpse of Canada’s natural beauty, from the splashing waves of Lake Maligne, the frosty tip of Mount Somervell. The Call of the Canadian Rockies virtual trip supplies a nice juxtaposition of nature against Chicago’s cityscape during the Flyover Chicago portion.

The separate Believe Chicago experience swoops over clouds and soars over landmarks like the Chicago Theater and DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The flight motion seat and 65-foot wraparound screen make you feel like you’re transported to each scene.
The multi-sensory attraction incorporates lake breezes, mists, nature scents and music by local musicians. FlyOver Chicago is located across from Navy Pier’s Children’s Museum at the west entrance. Be sure to wear closed, secure shoes because flip flops and unsecured sandals may fall off during the ride.
Tickets are $35 for adults and $23.95 for children 13 and under. There’s an option for a double feature with 50 percent off the second ride.
