South Shore Line deal
When: Weekday Eastbound Free Rides Sept. 1 – Oct. 31, 2021 now through December 31, 2021.

The South Shore Line is offering all weekday (Monday through Friday) eastbound trips for free Sept. 1 – December 31, 2021
The eastbound free rides will begin Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 and last through Friday, Oct. 31, 2021, excluding weekends. Passengers should simply board applicable weekday eastbound trains with no ticket purchase necessary. Passengers will be responsible for paying all applicable fares on weekend trips and weekday westbound trips.
Fares
The South Shore Line has fare zones. Depending on where you start and where you end the fares range from $6.25 to $14.25 each way.
MASK REQUIREMENT IN EFFECT THROUGH 1/18/22: Per federal orders, the SSL continues to require masks in all SSL stations and onboard trains throughout Indiana and Illinois. This order is in effect regardless of vaccination status. Passengers who do not comply with the mask mandate will be subject to removal from trains. Certain passengers are exempt from the mask mandate, including passengers with medical/health issues and children under the age of 2.
Kids Ride Free
Up to three children 13 years of age and under rides FREE with an accompanying adult on all weekend and holiday trains and weekday trains arriving at Millennium Station after 9:30 a.m. and departing before 3:30 p.m. and after 6:30 p.m. Other children 13 years of age and under ride at reduced (1/2) fare at all times. An accompanying adult must be a parent or legal guardian and at least 21 years of age.
