WOOGMS Parade
When: Monday, September 6, 2021
Where: Meet at Pine Grove and Wellington. Then march down Wellington, Barry, Sheridan and Diversey finishing on the lawn of St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Well they got me on this one. I’ve never heard of this! The Wellington-Oakdale Old Glory Marching Society’s (WOOGMS) annual Labor Day is back live. The parade theme is “Everybody marches nobody watches”. This group also has a parade on Memorial Day. WOOGMS was formed 50 years ago by late Chicago PR executive Al Weisman.
Pets, bikes, scooters, and strollers welcome. The Jesse White Drum Corps will lead the parade and the Jesse White Tumblers will perform at the end.
