Getting there and away
I lived in Rogers Park for five years shortly after the dinosaurs went extinct. I’m not sure what goes on up there these days. Some reports are gangs (they were there before) and some reports are gentrification. Like many gentrifying neighborhoods safety conditions vary on a block-by-block basis. Anyway I would say don’t wander off the festival area, stick with crowds, and do not take the Red Line at night. I would take a bus on Sheridan Road. Or cab or Uber.
